Yo. I am a slow, plodding runner. For Ironman I want a 4 hour marathon, but the next up goal is for a sub 1 hour 10k, wih the eventual goal of a 45 min. I am looking to do one on New Year's day, and so hope to knock 10 mins off my current time over the next two months

She has had a lumpyfanny for some time now, I blame the bike

Indeed! it's all the bike's fault.
I have discovered havign a Garmin makes me run faster. It's frightening knowing how slow I am. If I'm only going a couple of miles I can do ten min miles ok, so need to up the fitness, as the legs do know what to do.

Turns out what i thought was 10k is actually 6.1 and not 6.2 miles. I'm still hovering at the 1.10 mark. I'm going to really work at this. I've now found out a man who did me wrong is going to be at Lumpyfanny. I may not beat him, he has a 52 min 10k, but I will not be 20 mins after he's finished and gone home.

Hopefully the garmin will help you to run even paced so you don't burn yourself out - constant pacing rocks

That's exactly what I did today, the first three miles were under ten mins, then it all went a but 11-12. Need to work on that!
