Over the winter, each month, the Armada Athletics Network (AAN) put on 3k races. You don't receive a medal; but these only cost £2 to enter. In the summer, they change location (still in Plymouth) and do a 5k race. Again, they're only £2 to enter with no medal. They have another race around February time called the Hoe 10, which is a 10 mile race starting from the Plymouth Hoe. I've done one of the summer races and 3 of the winter races. Very well organised and well worth the £2. At the race in October, we also received a free bottle of banana For Good Shakes shake. Very nice. I will certainly be doing this next month and each month up to March when they change to the summer series. Part of the idea of this is to track your own progress and aim to improve each time. I have done just that! First race was 26 something, then 22.27 and last night was 22.14.
