I am a member of a club partly for the race entry discounts that you get, sweatshop voucher etc. We have a good old night out a couple of times a year too. Training is down to us to do on our own as due to our differing shifts we don't have a specific club night for running together. It works well for us

I'm not because I suck at running. I also like to do it on the treadmill but enough about my personal life.

I belong to a club and love it. Apart from the 2 training nights, there are also lots of runs that people organize between those and at the weekend that you can tag along with.. Also we try and go out for a "few" drinks every couple of months.

I used to belong to a club, but I am a misery and prefer running alone, so I left it some time ago. I still take part in races though.

Nope, not attached to any club, there are none for a good 7/8 miles away although there is quite a few runners around here....but you never seem to see them in pairs

Like twinnies, I'm a member of a running club and a tri club (although only for a few weeks in the case of the tri club...)
I find that the running club training sessions are often sessions I wouldn't do by myself, or that I end up running them faster because I'm running with others. There are also nights where I definitely wouldn't have gone out for a run on my own because of the weather where I have gone out because it's training night...

I am a member of one club and will soon be joining a second claim club.
I put my massive speed improvement down to running with faster people and trying to catch them up. My club is only small, but that helps with the support. One of the best moves I made was heading down to the club!

I used to be a club runner. I'm still registered with Scottish Athletics though.

As I don't drive I would find even my closest club awkward to get to, particularly on dark winter evenings. I've considered joining an internet based club, but I don't really race often enough to get value for money from it.

I'm a member of a club and I love it. I still tend to train on my own because I help coach the juniors and the sessions are at the same time as the seniors, but my having access to a track for speed work and the banter/ rivalry at races have made it a worthwhile decision to join. I've got into other types of races too as opposed to just road and I think that has helped my running in general too.

I joined Bodmin Roadrunners earlier this year and am loving it. (It didn't exist before that and I didn't have one near enough to make it worthwhile joining. I would consider joining an online club if I didn't have a 'real' club nearby but only if the cost justified it - I don't do a huge number of races so if it was too expensive I wouldn't be saving anyything.)
