Today I ran I have promised myself to run at least three times a week up until Xmas and then I hope to be in a better position to judge what events I might be capable of next year. I have let things slide farther than I ever believed possible but tonight, for the first time in a long time, I wanted to run and I believed in myself enough to do it ... and it made me realise that I have actually rather missed it. Boy am I slow these days though! Onwards and upwards

Compared to how I used to be, I am shockingly slow! But for the moment, I don't care. I'm leaving the Garmin at home and not stressing about it. Right now, I just need to get myself out there in any way, shape or form. Speed can come back to me later

@wesome! No gizmos and gadgets, no time, no aspiration, just you, your feet, and your training brain becoming reacquainted!

Good for you Pam, it sounds like you're ready to get back to it! Look forward to hearing about your progress.
I know how you feel on the slow front, I am at that point myself, but we got there once before so we can do it again!

Awesome! What other training will you be doing? Rhon, I will be doing all the training! Back in the gym, back on the bike, back in the pool, back on the living room floor doing bodyweight stuff I have always been crap at moderation. This is a double edged sword I ran to the gym yesterday. Not far but I was going there anyway so why not? And I ran again at lunch time today. It was hard and horrible but I'm glad I did it anyway. The horridness was largely my own fault since I hadn't eaten anything at all and was therefore, can you believe it, lacking in energy.

I was thinking about you tonight on my run, I was only talking to my SIL about my base training plans prior the HM schedule and how I was going to build up to an 8 mile mid week run and make it a regular appearance each week from then on, so what did I do, I went out and ran 8 miles tonight, it was supposed to be 5, I hit the f**k it button and thought what the hell! The devil in me came out after reading this today. ;D

Great news Pammo. But don't overdo it and put yourself backwards... Just relentless forward progress. It's not a race ( yet )
