Tonights LSR done and dusted, different but far safer route than last time around also included the HR monitor as well. The run itself went fine apart from almost getting run into by some young divvy on a bike with no lights on grr. I did find it hard going though around the 7-8 mile mark as the legs felt a bit heavy maybe the quicker 5 mile on Monday didn't help but still continued to the full 10 miles. connect.garmin.com/activity/238931905

Well done Wino - are you planning to go any further next time? (I don't mean to imply that 10 miles isn't far enough -just curious!)

Once the run gets a bit more regular then I do hope to get to the HM stage and see how it goes but I think I'm a long way of that yet leg wise: )

2nd Park run completed and with Stevie absent due to her gruelling training on Friday (hope your legs are waking up ) I decided to give it a go and see how it went. I started in about the third or fourth row after a bit of jostling and off we all went. It was a very slippy surface and I did wonder the run wether to put my normal trainers on for a bit more grip but decided against it after a steady warm up. The first lap was kinda frustrating as I wanted to go a tad quicker but found a wall of bodies infront for the first few hundred meters but once they settled I seemed to get into a nice rhythm and managed to overtake a few especially up the hill. Lap two saw me continue at a steady pace for the first half of it as some gaps started to appear amongst the others runners and I got overtaken a few times by two certain runners as i seemed to lose concentration for a bit by this time the third and final lap was here so after a bit of a breather I decide to try and up the pace to see if I could test out the dodgy left leg and go on a full stride after the downhill section was done with again I got over taken by the same few runners which started to annoy me (lol) along the bit of straight towards the hill section is where I made my move and upped the pace full stride and gasping for air (grr) I managed to keep the pace up the hill and left the other group of 4/5 runners behind and had my sights set on the next two infront with around a quarter of a lap to go by this time my head was starting pound a bit probably not a wise move to drink a few glasses of red wine lastnight. I managed to catch up with just one of the two on the last part of the downhill section prior to the finish by this time my legs would not go any quicker. No idea where I finished so will have to wait till the results come through later but I thoroughly enjoyed it. My only gripe was after the run I looked at the Garmin and it read 2.99 km last week it was 3.01 makes me wonder how many more park runs aren't quite 5k ? Sorry for the long post and the waffling......heres the run connect.garmin.com/activity/239621514

First run for over a week after consuming far too much red/white wine and as much rum and coke one can handle and thats without mentioning the huge amount of food one tucked away in the last 7 days Decided to take it a a comfortable pace for obvious reasons just to get back into the swing of things although the legs did not want to go where I wanted at times I did manage to complete a nice steady 5k on a different route tonight which is mainly flat with a slight incline on both the outward and return leg and also kept to regular pace for once connect.garmin.com/activity/242802607

Third run in the last three days, legs felt fine and no soreness or stiffness so I decided to give the first mile a bit of try but ended up slowing down on every junction due to traffic which didnt help but I still managed 7:02 would of been nice to get under the 7 minute per mile which is something I haven't done for a long time now. Slowed the 2nd and third mile down by a good 20-30 seconds respectively and still ended up with a new PB for 5k which wasnt what I set out to do but tis nice when it all seems to fall into place and gives me a tad of hope that the elusive sub 20 is possible. Almost forgot...I also managed to run into a lamp post That will teach me to run on unlit footpaths connect.garmin.com/activity/243302229

After taking a rest day on Friday the Saturday park run soon arrived, this time I made sure I had plenty of water prior and also another drink after which did stop me from having the awful headache from the last run. It wasnt the greatest of days to begin with pissing down with rain when I left and continued throughout the 20 minute journey thankfully by the time the warm ups had been done the weather did brighten up a bit which made the run more enjoyable. I managed to remember this time around to try and get a better position at the start line so not to get boxed in like last time although I wasn't intending to run a quick one just a steady pace. The run itself went fine only overtook two other runners then I got passed by someone else later on and I kept a couple of yards behind the runner in front of me for the whole run as we seemed to be roughly the same pace which I found helped. Eventually finished run in what I thought was a nice steady pace 22:05 in around 10th place which I was happy with and didnt realise that it was only 6 seconds outside my PB for this course until I got home and uploaded the data so I'm kicking myself a bit now as I thought I was a good way off that time, ah well theres always another time for that. On the upside it looks like my slower runs during the week are starting to make a difference at long last. Enough drivel from me for now, heres the run connect.garmin.com/activity/243987095

Intended to go for a steady 8 minute per mile tonight and was a nightmare. Although I did do it on average the splits were absolutely shocking, OK it was the first time I had run this particular route as it includes the 3 inclines that exist locally but either way I was disappointed and deffo need to work on my hill running connect.garmin.com/activity/244577729

After last nights abysmal effort I took the challenge a tad further and decided to do the same route but on a slower pace and twice instead of once to see how I would cope with almost two weeks since I did further than 5 miles. I was aiming for around the 9:30 per mile pace but still seem to be struggling to go at that pace In the end I settled for a comfortable pace that I felt I could maintain for a longer period which was just a tad under 9 minute miles. connect.garmin.com/activity/244922670

This mornings steady 5 miles was bloody hard work 75% of it into the wind at some points I thought I was jogging on the spot or even being blown back a yard or two. On two occasions I was blown from the path into the edge of the road but thankfully the roads are very quiet at the minute. Will certainly remember that when the winds blowing from the west to run the opposite way around connect.garmin.com/activity/246485332
