As long as "Cycling Race" means sportive, I'm in. Otherwise I'll have to send on all my licensed racing buddies' race reports. My BIL recently got his cat 3 racing licence (he rides for Dulwich Paragon) - I think he does the Crystal Palace weekly races. Me? I probably won't be racing. A couple of friends tried it out last year and realised that most of the cycling races are populated by people who ride for sponsored teams. But a Sportive? Yup, that's my bag. I'm also considering doing a spot of Audaxing next year and might post reports on these in here. Audaxing is like the orienteering of the cycling world, except they, too, are not races. There are no prizes although there is a time limit. You also have to go through various checkpoints to get a stamp in your brevet card. If you reach a certain number of events of a specific distance (200km?) you get a certain accolade (I obviously haven't studied this enough - you get some fancypants French title).
