Hi there
I'm after a simple fish recipe, for a mild tasting fish.
I only eat shellfish at the moment, but hopefully this will be a gateway food to more fishy delights.
Any ideas would be gratefully received.

Fishy delishy! Can post proper recipes tomorrow but off the top of my head ... An easy entry ( ) would be to simply grill or pan fry cod and have it alongside something stronger tasting so you get used to it but don't notice it. Like have it with a nice beany cassoulet or with puy lentils. Some people find salmon strong tasting but marinade it in teriyaki sauce and you should be good to go. Also works well with tuna. I find the flavour of sea fish easier to handle than the old freshwater guys.

Salmon pan fried skin down until it goes crunchy. Pour a big glug of balsamic vinegar into the pan then turn your fillets over. You'll get a big satisfying fizzle and a load of spitting. The top of your salmon will turn blackish and crunchy and a bit sweet as it cooks. D'lish.

Last night I produced a look of horror from Jake. (Think LOTR when Gollum curses Sam for cooking rabbit!) I gave Jake his defrosted pollack, and on a whim decided I would have the other piece so I sprinkled it with black pepper, dollup of olive spread, and zapped it in the micro for 3 mins! Not exactly 5 Star michelin handywork, but easy cooked fish albeit one disgruntled feline!

I had swordfish last night.
Simply used a hot griddle pan with a little oil in it. Griddled the fish for ~2 minutes each side, then a bit of lemon juice on the fish while it rested and I put the vegetable risotto on my plate.
Nomalicious.
